Vanilla buttercream
1 cup butter, at room temperature
3 cups confectioners sugar
1 teaspoon pure clear vanilla extract
1 to 2 tablespoons heavy cream, plus more as needed

Mix the butter and sugar together in with an electric mixer.  Mix on low speed until
thoroughly blended and then increase speed to medium and beat for another 4

Add vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon cream and continue to beat on medium speed for
another minute more, adding the other tablespoon cream and/or more as needed to
achieve and maintain a spreadable consistency
