Chocolate gooey butter cake
Gooey butter cakes other half

2 cups flour
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 cup cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon Extra fine salt
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract, divided
4 large eggs
1/4 cup chocolate chips
8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9 x 13 baking tin with cooking spray

Sieve the flour, sugar, 1 cup cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a large
bowl. Give the dry ingredients a thorough whisk to combine

Add the butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 eggs and chocolate chips. Beat until the
mixture reaches a cohesive dough

Turn the dough out of the bowl and press into the bottom of the prepared pan and
about 1/4 inch up all around the sides

Sieve the confectioners sugar and cocoa powder into a bowl or piece of wax or
parchment paper

In the same bowl the dough was in, beat the cream cheese until soft and fluffy. Add
the remaining 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 2 eggs and continue mixing until
everything is fully incorporated

Add the confectioners sugar/cocoa powder mixture, 1/4 cup at a time, ensuring it is
thoroughly mixed before adding the next addition

Pour the batter into the pan atop the crust. Bake 40 to 45 minutes until the cake has a
dull finish

Remove from oven to a cooling rack and cool to room temperature
Cut Chocolate gooey butter cake into squares and serve
