Kitty litter cake
Perfectly disgusting dessert centerpiece for your Halloween party. Use your
imagination to take this idea to new heights of disgust

Ingredients
1 box spice cake mix
1 box white cake mix
1 lb 4 ounce packaged vanilla sandwich cookies
1 large package vanilla instant pudding
Green food coloring
12 midget Tootsie Rolls candy

Special equipment
1 new kitty litter box
1 new pooper scooper
2 sheets of newspaper

Method
Prepare the cake mixes according to the package directions [use whatever method
best suits your baking equipment as you will be breaking up the cakes later]

Prepare the pudding according to the package directions. Refrigerate until well chilled

Break up the cookies a little. In small batches, put the cookies in a food processor
fitted with the metal chopping blade. Pulse until the cookies are crushed, but not
pulverized [you want the results to look like kitty litter]. Scrape down the sides of the
bowl often, the crumbs with the filling will tend to stick

Measure out 1 cup of cookie crumbs and add 2 drops of green food coloring. [Expedite
this process by putting 1 cup of crumbs in a larger zipper top bag, add the food
coloring, seal and shake to combine]. This is the chlorophyll in your kitty litter

When the cakes have cooled to room temperature, crumble them into a very large
bowl. Toss with the uncolored cookie crumbs and enough of the pudding to make the
mixture moist, but not soggy. [Save leftover pudding for a snack]

Pour the cake/cookie/pudding mixture into the pan and spread it out

Unwrap 3 of the Tootsie Rolls and heat in the microwave until soft and pliable; be
careful not to melt them. Shape blunt ends into slightly curved points [use your
imagination]. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie Rolls. Bury the shaped Tootsie Rolls in the
cake mixture, allowing some of them to stick out of the top at random intervals. Use
your imagination

Sprinkle the remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter the green
crumbs lightly over the top. Heat the remaining Tootsie Rolls, three at a time in the
microwave until almost melted. Scatter them over the top of the cake and arrange
them on the sides of the pan, sprinkling with crumbs [again, use your imagination]

Place two sheets of newspaper on your table. Put the kitty litter box on top of the
newspaper. Use the new pooper scooper to serve
